Louis II de La Tremoille (1460-1525) was a distinguished French general who served under Charles VIII, Louis XII, and Francis I. He played a decisive role in ending Breton independence at the Battle of Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier in 1488, fought in the Italian Wars, and won renown at the Battle of Marignano in 1515. His career ended at the Battle of Pavia in 1525, where he was killed while fighting to defend King Francis I from Spanish arquebusiers.
