Collection: W. Goodacre

William Goodacre Jr. (active 1820s–1840s) was a British cartographer, draftsman, and topographical artist known for his finely detailed maps and architectural views. Based in London, he produced a range of educational atlases and scenic prints during the early Victorian period, many engraved and published by firms such as Fenner, Sears & Co.

Goodacre’s work combined clarity of design with architectural precision, reflecting both artistic skill and scientific accuracy. Among his best-known prints is Branch of the United States Bank, Savannah (1831), engraved in London, which exemplifies his interest in depicting notable buildings and landscapes beyond Britain. His maps and views remain valued today for their elegant engraving and contribution to 19th-century geographic and architectural illustration.
