Collection: W. Bartlet S.

William S. Bartlett (active 1830s–1850s) was a British engraver and illustrator best known for his finely detailed steel engravings of landscapes, architecture, and topographical views. He frequently collaborated with the artist and topographical draftsman William Henry Bartlett, engraving plates for popular travel and scenery books published in London and abroad.

Working during the golden age of steel engraving, Bartlett’s work appeared in volumes such as American Scenery, The Scenery and Antiquities of Ireland, and Switzerland Illustrated. His engravings are characterized by clarity, depth, and delicate line work, helping bring distant places to life for 19th-century readers and collectors.
