This view of Plymouth, Massachusetts, was featured in John Lambert's account of his journey through North America. Lambert, an English artist, traveled in North America between 1806 and 1808. In the early 19th century, he published "Travels through Canada and the United States," which was illustrated by aquatints based on his own sketches.
