(a.b.) c. Phlegia. d. Capanea. e.f. Hyperia. Plate CCXXXVI. Pieter Cramer (1721–c.1779) was a Dutch wool merchant and entomologist who compiled an extensive collection of butterflies and moths. He commissioned Gerrit Wartenaar Lambertz to draw the specimens, which were then engraved and issued in the celebrated work De Uitlandsche Kapellen Voorkomende in de Drie Waereld-Deele Asia, Africa en America… \/ Papillons Exotiques des Trois parties du Monde: l'Asie, l'Afrique et l'Amerique. Published between 1775 and 1782, this series presented exotic species in detailed engravings finished with original hand coloring. Plate CCXXXVI depicts several butterflies identified as Enotrea, Phlegia, Capanea, and Hyperia, each shown with precision to record their distinctive wing patterns and forms. As with other plates in the set, it combines scientific study with refined artistry, preserving a vivid record of the natural history of distant continents.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"My Art Dealer","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42995882360910,"sku":"90282-1","price":300.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0634\/7033\/8126\/files\/90282-1_c6ab4248-c713-4d93-838d-7a1d18004b4d.jpg?v=1759869639","url":"https:\/\/myartdealer.com\/products\/enotrea-a-b-c-phlegia-d-capanea-e-f-hyperia-plate-ccxxxvi-90282-1","provider":"My Art Dealer","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
