Rare copper engraving by Jacob de Gheyn. From his renowned early work on the exercise of arms, "Wapenhandelinge van Roen Musquetten ende Spiessen." De Gheyn's work is prized for its striking depictions of early 17th-century uniforms, weapons and military accouterments. There are plates illustrating firelocks, muskets and pikes, as well as armor, swords and ammunition pouches.
