Engraving by Johann Friedrich Leonart, c. 1655, depicting Heinrich Matthias, Count of Thurn (1567-1640), the Bohemian nobleman and military leader whose role in the Defenestration of Prague in 1618 helped spark the Thirty Years' War. Shown in old age, he is portrayed bust-length, turned to the right while looking toward the viewer, wearing a cloak over armor. The image is enclosed within an octagonal frame decorated with oak leaves and acorns, set inside a rectangular border, with the title and a brief biographical note in Italian below.
